Why I Built This
Bogart was the love of my life for fifteen and a half years. I had him since he was a puppy, and he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in December 2024, just after Christmas.
I have pictures of him. I have videos. I have his ashes in a small box on my shelf. But somehow it still felt like pieces were missing — the small stuff, the stuff that doesn't show up in a photo.
When I sat down to write out his story, I got stuck on something I never expected: I couldn't fully remember his favorite snacks. I wrote down popcorn and watermelon.
Then, later that same day, it hit me — banana. Banana was his favorite thing on the entire planet. And I'd almost let that slip away.
That's the moment this book was born. Not to give me closure — I don't think that ever really happens when you lose your pet. But a way to hold onto him. A way to catch the little things before they fade for good, and smile at the silly ones I'd forgotten I still had.
That's what Furever Friends is. I built it so you can do the same thing for your beloved pet.
